# Buying from a customer on the retail screen

> Add scrap/jewellery or sarrafiye purchases to the cart, then review payment and any offset against a sale.

**Buying from a customer (Müşteriden alış)** is a separate operation beside **Sale (Satış)** on the retail screen. Record scrap/jewellery bought from a customer or sarrafiye that will enter an existing product's stock here.

## Start a purchase

1. Open **Buying from a customer (Müşteriden alış)** on the **Retail screen (Perakende ekranı)**.
2. Select the **Branch (Şube)** and **Customer (Müşteri)**. Use **New customer (Yeni müşteri)** if there is no customer record.
3. Choose **Scrap / jewellery (Hurda / takı)** or **Sarrafiye**, depending on the item.

## Scrap / jewellery purchase

1. Enter **Gold fineness (Ayar)** and **Gross weight · grams (Brüt ağırlık · gram)**. The screen shows **Net metal weight (Net metal ağırlığı)** and **Estimated purchase amount (Yaklaşık alış bedeli)**.
2. In **Details (Detay)**, check any **Stone weight (Taş ağırlığı)**, **Other material (Yabancı madde)**, how they are handed over, and **Measured custom fineness (Ölçülen özel milyem)**.
3. If needed, enter a physical description, **Deduction (Kesinti)** and its reason, application photos, or a manual price and its reason if you have permission.
4. Check the calculation and click **Add to purchase cart (Alış sepetine ekle)**.

> Scrap / jewellery is tracked in scrap stock by fineness and net weight, rather than as a finished product for resale.

## Sarrafiye purchase

1. Under **Sarrafiye**, search for and select the item in **Existing product to stock (Stoğa girecek mevcut ürün)**.
2. Enter the **Quantity (Miktar)** and check the **Estimated purchase amount (Yaklaşık alış bedeli)**.
3. In **Details (Detay)**, complete the physical description, deduction and reason, photos, and, if permitted, the manual purchase unit price and reason.
4. Click **Add to purchase cart (Alış sepetine ekle)**.

> A sarrafiye purchase adds to the selected existing product's stock. The newly bought quantity is unavailable for sale until the payment debt is settled.

## Purchase cart and payment

Check the items in the **Purchase cart (Alış sepeti)** on the right. If you also sell an item to the same customer, use **Give the customer a product / Offset against this sale (Müşteriye ürün de ver / Bu satışla mahsup et)** to link the sale to the purchase. Under **Payment made to customer (Müşteriye yapılan ödeme)**, add only a completed cash, physical asset or bank payment; recording a bank payment does not itself initiate a transfer.

After checking **Gold purchase amount (Altın alış bedeli)** and **Difference payable to customer (Müşteriye ödenecek fark)**, click **Review purchase and payment (Alış ve ödemeyi incele)**. Confirm the review details and finish with **Complete purchase (Alışı tamamla)**. The screenshots show an empty cart, so payment and review buttons are still disabled; add a purchase item first. A saved draft remains on this device.
